The marine doctor Dr. med. Karen Stendal is assigned to the sailing training ship Albatros, which heads her great love Gregor Simonis as captain. But contrary to expectations Gregor behaves emphatically cool and dismissive to the attractive doctor. During a trip ashore in Lisbon, Karen indulges in an affair with the charming journalist Thomas Sand. But when Karen learns the reason for Gregor's peculiar restraint, she knows he needs her more than ever.

A German energy engineer has been found dead in a burnt-out car off the main road in the African Namib desert. The Namibian police rule out an accident and the victim's wife and business partner Maja Reichardt is suspected to be involved in the death of her husband. She has only two hours to convince the German embassy staff of her innocence. If she fails she will be transferred to the local judiciary facing months of pretrial detention. Unfortunately diplomatic officer Kirsten Buresch who has to take the final decision feels that Maja is suffering from paranoia and therefore might have had a reason to kill her husband.

The Hamburg shipowner Jan Hansen proudly transfers a magnificent, brand new sailing yacht to Uruguay, which he lovingly designed in accordance with the wishes of the rich wood manufacturer Don Esteban Gonzales. Unter uns is a German television soap opera, first broadcast on RTL on 28 November 1994. Centered around the lives of the people in a residential house, which is set in the fictional Schillerallee in Cologne. Since the show debuted the baker's family Weigel is the series core family. Unter uns isn't based on a foreign soap opera like Verbotene Liebe or Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten. After Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten, the show was the second daily soap for RTL, followed years later in 2006 by Alles was zählt. The show aired its 3,500th episode on 30 December 2008.
